Imagine being a part of something bigger than yourself.
This is the place where you can flex and grow, learn and experience, step up and be involved whilst being supported by fellow students of the highest calibre, world-class teaching staff and a history of excellence that spans well over a hundred years. This is the place where you get to shape your own educational path, make choices and experience the new and exciting within a secure, supportive and dynamic environment. This is where it all begins, the moments, the memories, the bonds that last a lifetime and this life-changing experience is one application away.
Our academic counsellors will be your first point of contact when coming into the school and will make sure you are on an academic path that best suits your needs and personality.
With so many options, it can be hard to decide which path is best for you as a student. That's why our academic counselling department is so important. New incoming students who enter into a year that requires them to pick elective subjects can reach out to the academic counsellors to get advice on what to choose at GCSE or A-level.
Our counsellors are actively involved in creating events that prepare for their future academic careers. From annual presentations that provide insight into the British educational system, to talks provided by UK university officials and mock interviews for demanding universities like Oxford and Cambridge, we are committed to ensuring every student and parent is well-informed and supported throughout all the stages of the secondary education we offer.
Incoming and existing students who consistently reach beyond expectations and set the bar high are awarded the Achievement Scholarship. Academic diligence coupled with a a strong character ethos and conduct, which is among our core values, is something that we endorse and celebrate wholeheartedly.
It’s really hard to pin down what makes the American Academy Larnaca so special, because it doesn’t come down to one thing. Beyond academic excellence, our students can boast of a rich student life that includes extra-curricular activities that open up opportunities within the local, national and global spheres.
Students and parents who are interested in catching a glimpse of what is on offer can do so during our open day events. Visitors will get a chance to explore the school campus, while browsing the different courses we have on offer. They will also be able to chat with teachers and current students, who are available to provide insight into our academic paths and our school ethos.
New incoming students get to know their new school
It can sometimes feel daunting when you start at a brand new school, even if you’ve got an unreserved excitement for the next big phase in your life. This is why we organise orientation events for new incoming students.
The one-day event is informal and gives students the opportunity to get to know their year group and their teachers. This sets the ground for a series of fun exploration activities on our big school campus, that allow students to get to know classrooms and facilities that will soon become part of their daily routines. It’s an exciting day to be at the school, and it marks the beginning of a journey filled with experiences that will shape your future.
