YOUR TIME AT THE ACADEMY

I attended the American Academy Private School in Larnaca the period 1984-1991.
When I was studying in the American Academy Larnaca, I always felt that I belonged to a place of special culture. From the first moment you feel that you are in a familiar space with the staff of every level to guide you and be always ready to support you.
The excellent cooperation between teachers and students and the effective administration of the school, motivate and encourage students to strive for better results and achieve their goals.
The American Academy offered me the opportunity to talk to my teachers and practice my critical thinking, as well as to ask for advice and support whenever I needed it. At the same time, I had the opportunity to participate in other activities, such as sports and excursions, which helped me to socialize and develop my own inclinations and abilities.

FONDEST MEMORIES FROM AAL?

I liked the high level of education and the good cooperation I had in all my years of study with all the staff of the Academy as well as with my classmates.
I will never forget my participation in several theatre performances that were acknowledged and supported greatly, both by the wider school community and the organized parents, for their successful outcome. Moreover, I always remember those beautiful moments where I took part in the dancing group of the school for many years.

I also remember the motto of the school: “to grow and to serve”, which encompasses the whole philosophy of the school. I do remember the relentless and consistent attempt by the staff of the Academy to aid students in their effort to achieve their full potential in all areas of education and life, as well as to develop their own personal qualities in order to become completed personalities and successful professionals.

I learned to set high goals and strive to achieve them with dedication.
I am obliged to my teachers in this school, not only for the knowledge and skills I have gained, but also for learning how to conduct myself in the society in a principled manner.

I still use the same supplies in my workplace in the context of my cooperation and communication with several people. My teachers offered me all the necessary knowledge that enabled me to succeed as a university student and at the same time they equipped me with the necessary skills that eventually helped me to overcome any obstacles that I have encountered, both during my studies and in life generally.

I learned to take on my own overall responsibilities in the courses as well as to take initiatives for in-school and out-of-school activities.
When I was studying at the university in the United Kingdom and later on when I came back to Cyprus and began my own professional career, I always held it as a badge of honour to be introduced as a graduate of the American Academy of Larnaca.

Undoubtedly, American Academy Larnaca stands as an institution with a long tradition for offering a high standard of education to all its students and this is evident in the reputation and prestige that the school has developed through the years and still has nowadays.
The American Academy follows a humanistic approach to learning, focusing on the formation of completed and caring personalities with the development of voluntary activities and the cultivation of an interest for the fellow-man and everyone who is need of love and support. Furthermore, it promotes the involvement of students in public affairs, their active interest for the protection of the environment and a deep respect and admiration for the history and culture of our beautiful island.
At the same time, equal emphasis is given to the involvement of the faculty and students of the American Academy in charitable, social, cultural and other activities for the benefit and welfare of the wider community.
