In the Nursery there is a strong emphasis on learning through play, which can be child initiated and planned play. The curriculum is delivered through a combination of whole class activities, adult led focused activities and child initiated activities. When the children transition to Pre-Junior they build on the knowledge and skills that they have acquired in the Nursery, and learning continues to be through play and exploration together with teacher led activities. The children are given new opportunities to extend their learning as they progress towards the Early Learning Goals at the end of Pre-Junior.
In the Nursery 1 and Nursery 2 Classes our day begins at 07.15 when parents are invited to come into the class with their child and carry out an activity together. All children must be in school by 08:00 when we start our daily schedule. Our day ends at 13:15 and children may be picked up at any time between 13:00 – 13:30.
Children in the Pre-Junior Class must be in school by 07.30 and be picked up at 13.15.
