All children and young people can face problems from time to time. These can be related to learning, social relationships, making difficult decisions, or managing emotions such as depression, anxiety, fear or a sense of isolation.
The school psychologist can help students, families, educators and members of the community understand and resolve both long-term chronic problems and short-term issues students might face. This is achieved through direct support to students, consultation with teachers and families to improve support strategies, and collaboration with school management teams to improve school-wide practices and policies.
